Objective: to be an independent self-employed massage therapist.
Career: I have been an independent self-employed massage
therapist from April 1, 1998 until January 10, 2003 when I rented clinic
space at PRO-FITNESS in North Billerica, MA. From January 10, 2003 to the
2010 I rented clinic space at 121 Brick Kiln Road in Chelmsford, MA.
Experience: I have extensive salon/spa/health club, re-hab/hospice/hospital,
hotel/home visitation, and corporate chair massage experience. In over
twelve years of continuous practice I have held licenses, both therapist
and establishment in good standing in the following communities:

For several years I have been an on-call contractor to national corporate
chair massage specialists
-in California, (Body Techniques, and Bill & Laurel)
-in Atlanta, GA (Stress Recess, Inc.)
Through my affiliation with American Specialty Health, American Whole
Health Networks, Inc., and Landmark Health Care, I am able to offer
insurance discounts to the following insurance holders: BC/BS, Tufts,
Harvard Pilgrim, CIGNA, Health New England, INTEL Corporation, UNICARE,
and Fallon Community Health Plan.
As an artist deeply involved in the arts, I have been staff therapist to
the Andover Chamber Music Series (1999-2002), and The Merrimack Repertory
Theatre (1999-2000). Besides massage therapy, I am a writer (The Lowell
Sun and The Lawrence Eagle Tribune), poet, actor, stand-up comic, and a
volunteer community DJ at WUML, Lowell 91.5 FM Monday, Tuesday and
Thursday mornings 9:00-11:00 a.m. as Ravin’ David, The Mouth of the
Merrimack, The Leatherneck with the Leather Lungs hosting “Thinking Out
Loud” at the Center for Family Work and Community at the University of
Massachusetts, Lowell campus.
A retired First
Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps I served five years of
continuous active duty, (1965-1970). Meritoriously commissioned from
Corporeal E-4, Heavy Truck Operator, to a Second Lieutenant, I was a rifle
platoon commander in Viet Nam, and hold the Purple Heart, the Vietnamese
Cross of Gallantry, and two awards of the Meritorious Unit Citation.
Although 70% permanently disabled I have run and completed several
marathons, Boston, Chicago and Washington, DC (1978-1985). I was a Boston
cab driver (1994-1998) Newton Veterans Cab and an annually certified RIDE
operator at the same time.
From 1998 to the present I have maintained a Professional membership in
the American Massage Therapy Association with full liability coverage that
I have never been required to access.
Member of the Better Business Bureau Eastern MA, ME & VT (2005-2006),
and the Chelmsford Business Network International (2003).
For two years (1999 and 2000) I taught Introduction to Massage in the
Billerica Adult Education Program. Since 2000 I have served the Billerica
Board of Health in an advisory capacity for massage therapy. In 2006 I was
invited to teach “The Science of Touch” at the Salter School in Tewksbury.
In 2001, I was voted the best massage therapist in Greater Lowell. For two
years running, 2002-2003, I was voted the best massage therapist in
Chelmsford/Billerica.
Education: 1975 cum laude graduate of Boston University,
Metropolitan College, BAS in
computer sciences.
